I love FatWallet. What can I say, they offer cash back if you buy through their links for over 800 merchants, display deals and coupons for those merchants and have what I think are the best forums around for finding deals, freebies and coupons.
Now, Fat Wallet is using its staff to select daily deals they find their members will want to peruse and hopefully buy. Here is their press release.

The marketing term ” cash back ” in any deal or coupon website in my feeling, it works the same thing as discount percentage. It’s just the way they write it

I’m not sure exactly how it works. I am an affiliate for stores like Amazon and if you click through the link on my page I receive a small percentage for any item you buy. With FatWallet they are giving more percentage than I get but they also may have a better deal with Amazon and split their affiliate earnings with those who buy through their site. Stores like Amazon don’t raise their prices for affiliates, they are hoping to get more sales by having free advertising like on sites like mine and with something like FatWallet.
All I know is that when I bought my Dell Computer I got a nice cash back from FatWallet. That was a nice discount…so I guess you are right that it is a “discount percentage” that one receives.
Thanks for your comment.
